“Although thereis a relatively small number of excluded problem gamblersand the costs of the technology are high, with governmentagency and stakeholder support we’re hopeful that havingthe technology widespread will bring forward more people whocould be at risk to seek help from problem gambling serviceproviders,” said Mike Knell.

The technology wassuccessfully trialled by gaming societies at several venuesaround the country, including NZCT’s, and became fullyoperational in 2018. “We are pleased with the positiveresults to date and NZCT is progressively installing thetechnology at our own expense in venues. Nine of our venuesoutside the Gisborne area have the technology operating, sofar with excellent outcomes, and this new cluster will make15 in total.

“We will monitor the Gisborne venues andhow many attempted breaches of exclusion orders the facialrecognition technology identifies. We expect that havingthis technology in all our Gisborne venues will be a strongmotivator to self-excluded gamblers to stop gambling in ourgaming rooms.”

NZCT’s gaming rooms are at Aladdin’sBar and Tavern, Bar 59, Bollywood Stars, Brezz’n SportsBar, Shipwreck and Sugar. NZCT will encourage the operatorsof the other two gaming venues in Gisborne to considerinstalling thistechnology.

Thank you very much Joeman, I really appreciate a locals help. I have found some of the Florida casinos/card rooms tougher to figure out if they are still open or not. GWAE and I both had a lot of trouble trying to figure out if Gator Games in Fort Myers was still running a casino. The internet didn't help much, if I remember correctly he just stopped by when he was in the area and apparently there never was a casino just an arcade.
I have added both Victory cruises as one entry since Doc said that they use the same chps. I also changed Orange Park to Best Bet Orange Park. I missed any news that a change had taken place. Hamilton Downs has definitely closed permanently as they have violated multiple Jai Alai gambling laws. Jacks or Better is closed but from what I read on their site it sounds like they are working to try and reopen eventually, I took both off the list but I have left Jacks or Better on my personal list with a note to check back on them eventually. Again thanks for the corrections.

I thought about the daily cruise/casino boats when I saw the list. 2 Victory in Fl already mentioned. There may be others in FL ( not in Panama City or Pensacola, I just went in person and checked ;-) Maybe Tampa area, or Lauderdale/ Miami have others?
There is the 'Big M' out of Myrtle Beach SC, I have confirmed personally that they have chips..may have a competitor too.
QFit showed a ship out of Savannah GA, news to me, Tradewinds the Internet says.
While searching the webby, also shows the 'Emerald Princess' out of Brunswick Ga with a daily schedule starting Jan 2016. Maybe daily cruise/casino ships should be a separate category? Or ignore? Hard to ignore when they have 'chips', I gotta Victory $1 in my hand as I type ;-)

Thank you very much Joeman, I really appreciate a locals help. I have found some of the Florida casinos/card rooms tougher to figure out if they are still open or not. GWAE and I both had a lot of trouble trying to figure out if Gator Games in Fort Myers was still running a casino. The internet didn't help much, if I remember correctly he just stopped by when he was in the area and apparently there never was a casino just an arcade.
I have added both Victory cruises as one entry since Doc said that they use the same chps. I also changed Orange Park to Best Bet Orange Park. I missed any news that a change had taken place. Hamilton Downs has definitely closed permanently as they have violated multiple Jai Alai gambling laws. Jacks or Better is closed but from what I read on their site it sounds like they are working to try and reopen eventually, I took both off the list but I have left Jacks or Better on my personal list with a note to check back on them eventually. Again thanks for the corrections.
Gator games was a scary place. It was in a strip mall that was half out of business in what appeared to be a not so great part of town. I walked up to the door and tried to open it and it was locked. I noticed there was a bell you had to ring. All of the windows had very dark tint on them so you couldn't see in. I rang thr bell and was let in. A guy met me at the door and I asked about the place. There were 40 or 50 bar like poker machines. In the middle of the room there were prizes like small kitchen applicances and small TVs. He said you play and when you go to cash out you get prizes instead of money. There were no prices on the items so I have no idea what they cost.
We were there pretty early, maybe 9am. I think it opened shortly before we got there and there were already 3 or 4 people playing. I noticed they were all putting in $5 at a time. I am not sure if they were actually paying out cash or not.
I asked about table games and chips and he said they do not have such a thing. However, on chip guide there are chips for this location. I am not sure if they used to have a card room and now they dont. The worker was not very friendly so I didn't ask any other questions

I did notice a room in the back that had a curtain so you couldn't see and it said vip or private. I can't remember which. Maybe they are dealing back there for known customers or something.
When I left I noticed he had followed me out the door and took pictures of our car and plate. When i first went in I told him I was out of state and looking for chips. Then he probably saw me in a rental car with Florida plates. Not sure why he snapped pictures. I don't know if he thought I was scouting the place for a robbery or part of gaming. Or maybe some could alert other illegal games around.
